Hole 13 miracle
One day while working at a Golf Resort and driving the beverage cart, I entered Hole 13 and the Lord said, “I will protect you”. My eyes went ‘deer in the head light’ look because I knew He was letting me know something was about to happen….
As I drove up the hill, then past the putting green, I saw some golfers getting ready to play. So I stopped the cart. Normally, I sit and wait for them to play and then continue towards them when they are done. But this time I got out of the cart to check the ice on the side of the cart closest to the green.
With my back towards them and not seeing or hearing what was going on, I felt my knee bend and raise my foot up at the very moment a golf ball comes crashing under that leg and hitting the ground where my foot had been, and then hitting the underside of the cart, then settling near the trees on the other side.
What was that? I thought, as I walked over to see that it was a golf ball that one of the golfers had hit – an extremely bad slice. I turned to them and saw all four of them with a “deer in the headlight” look. Mouths wide open in amazement of what had just happened.
Then the Lord reminds me...”I will protect you”. OH MY GOD! You did protect me! Should I tell them? Yes was His answer.
So I began to tell them that I am a minister and the Lord had spoken in my heart just a few minutes ago that He would protect me. And well.. He just did. I don’t remember what else I said, but one golfer came to me and said she was glad to hear that I wasn’t afraid to confess Jesus Christ and that it was nice to hear this. I think it encouraged her to do the same.
How can I not confess Him, I thought to myself. He’s my Father and Lord! He’s my Protector! The amazing thing is that “they” saw the ball coming straight for my leg, and without me knowing what was going on, they saw my leg raise up just at that split moment the ball was about to hit and went under me. That was God’s divine presence causing my leg to raise at just that moment. There is no doubt in any of our minds that day... We all witnessed God’s miracle at Hole 13.
